  then grep /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/initd and after doing the
  necc, /etc/init.d/inet restart

to look for open ports on a host 
 knocker -H ip.ip.ip.ip
 
 if the knocker results do not show up, frob the colors of your
 xterm..
